ZIND-HUMBRECHT

Offered DEC 22nd, 2017

Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Brand 2015
36 bottles available
$90 per bottle

(95-96) points Wine Advocate: “From granite soils, Humbrecht’s 2015 Riesling Brand is terribly pure, fine and highly precise, delivering crushed stones and lemon perfume, as if it were another Sommerberg. Exciting! On the palate, this is a lush yet pure, intense and ripe, yet mineral and piquant Riesling; it has great elegance, noble intensity and great terroir expression. What a stimulating richness but also purity here, a beautifully fine tannin grip (as if it was Pinot Noir), and a long and persistent finish. This is a must buy of the vintage. Olivier compares the 2015 to 1983, which was also a very warm year and delivered elegant wines. This is pure, rich, lean, piquant and mineral, very stony, lush and fruity. Most of all, it is full of energy and fascination! A must buy!”

Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Clos Windsbuhl 2015
34 bottles available
$85 per bottle

94 points Wine Advocate: “Intense yellow in color, the 2015 Riesling Clos Windsbuhl is deep, clear, pure, ripe and rich on the nose, with smoky and toasty (speck) aromas and lovely fresh lemon flavors. Coming from pure, thinner limestone soils, this is a tension-filled, pure and salty, but also rich and lush Riesling with great tension. Still closed but highly elegant, full of finesse and tension, this Riesling is provided with great length and aging potential. The 2015 Windsbuhl is going to be bottled with 12.4 grams of residual sugar and 12.3% alcohol. Fine tannins and grip here. Gorgeous, but keep it for ten years or more. So pure, so salty, so fresh and finessed. Tasted from the cask (on the fine lees already) in February 2017. To be bottled some days later.”

Zind-Humbrecht Roche Calcaire 2015
36 bottles available
$35 per bottle

(92-93) points Wine Advocate: “This 2015 Riesling Roche Calcaire originates mostly (85-90%) from the village of Gueberschwihr. All seven little vineyards were planted in the 60s and 70s and are located on rich marl-limestone based soils. The intensely yellow colored wine is super ripe, round and “soft” on the nose with a rather subtle mineral flavor. Full-bodied, round and rich in the first moment, but then straight, pure and very salty in the stunningly lean and stimulating finish! This round and elegant wine opens wide like a baroque cathedral, but when you are in it you feel like you are in a gothic minster. This is so pure and salty in the finish! Gorgeous! Very complex but almost ready to drink. Tasted as a sample in February 2017, a few days before the bottling.”
