95+ points View From the Cellar: “The Musigny was a bit more closed than the Bonnes-Mares on this visit, but there is no denying this wine’s manifest quality. The bouquet, while not particularly expressive today, is impressively deep and complex for such a young wine, delivering a regal mélange of black cherries, red cherries, blood orange, coffee, a bit of tobacco, hints of venison, striking minerality, herb tones, a bit of new wood and a delicate topnote of roses. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, perfectly balanced, and really quite closed today. There is plenty of depth in the mid-palate, the acids are bright, and the finish is long, ripely tannic and extremely promising. This will be one of the stars of the vintage.
