ARLAUD

Offered JAN 8th, 2017

Arlaud Chambolle Musigny 2014
12 bottles available (OCB (6))
$60 per bottle

90 points Vinous: “Medium red Lovely floral high notes to the aromas of strawberry, minerals, and coffee Juicy, savory and dry on the palate, with pungent spicy lift to the mineral and floral flavors, Finishes firmly tannic, with persistent salty minerality and very good lift A lovely village wine.”

Arlaud Charmes Chambertin 2014
24 bottles available
$60 per bottle

(92-95) points Burghound: “A more deeply pitched and notably earthier nose also displays plenty of sauvage character. This gamy element continues onto the concentrated medium weight plus flavors that possess a caressing mouthfeel despite the evident muscularity of the austere and explosive finish. This is very Mazoyères in character yet it is a bit less rustic than usual. Worth a look provided that you have the patience to cellar it.”

Arlaud Clos de la Roche 2014
6 bottles available
$150 per bottle

94 points Vinous: “Medium red A sexy note of reduction to the aromas of strawberry, brown spices, game and rose petal, plus a whiff of white truffle Plush, silky and utterly seamless; wonderfully full for the vintage yet with no undue weight The red cherry and saline mineral flavors are less expressive than those of the Ruchots, conveying a restrained sweetness This is best today on the back end, where it displays sappy, subtle flavor intensity and spreads out to saturate the palate and build on the long aftertaste.”

Arlaud Clos St. Denis 2011
6 bottles available
$195 per bottle

92+ points Vinous: “Bright dark red. Raspberry, pepper, rose petal and sexy spicy oak on the nose; this reminded me of a topnotch Barbaresco. Silky, bright and intense but tightly wound, offering terrific intensity to the red cherry and rose petal flavors. Finishes juicy and very long, but I find this hard to taste today owing to its strong oak element. This grand cru will merit a higher score if the wood harmonizes with the wine’s perfumed fruits and flowers.”

Arlaud Clos St. Denis 2014
6 bottles available
$195 per bottle

(92-95) points Burghound: “A perfumed and dazzlingly elegant nose displays aromas of essence of red pinot fruit with plenty of spice and floral elements in evidence. This too possesses a caressing mouthfeel as there is an abundance of dry extract that buffers the moderately firm tannins on the dusty and superbly persistent finale. This is notably finer than the Charmes but not more complex.”

Arlaud Gevrey Chambertin 2014
12 bottles available (OCB (6))
$55 per bottle

(88-91) points Burghound: “Once again reduction pushes the fruit to the background. As is usually the case there is more size, weight, and power to the medium-bodied flavors that also exude a fine bead of minerality on the slightly rustic but equally well-balanced finale that offers even better complexity. Lovely.”
