Founded in 1964 by Alain Hudelot, the domaine now consists of almost ten hectares of very prestigious vineyards, including some of the best in Burgundy. The Clos Vougeot comes from old vines in the northernmost section of the vineyard. The quality of this wine improved significantly after Alain sold his lower parcel which was located at the bottom slope of the vineyard, thus reducing its total production by 40% but remaining only with the two parcels that neighbor Domaine Leroy’s.

Vega Sicilia has a clearly defined style, with concentrated, mature, generous and extremely elegant wines. The winery produces two top flagship bottlings: Unico (a Ribero del Duero Gran Reserva that is usually released ten years after the vintage) and Reserva Especial (a non-vintage blend of different Unicos that can include grapes from vintages harvested more than thirty years apart).

We recently acquired a few cases of this vintage that has just recently begun to express its mature characteristics and is drinking very well right now. These bottles were purchased on release by the original owner, and were properly stored in his home cellar ever since – perfect provenance and condition.

Rene Rostaing is one of Cote Rotie’s finest classical producers. His cellar practices are quite traditional, and the wines are superb examples of old style Cote Rotie. He has been remarkably consistent over the years, and the very high quality of the wines shows the difference in vintage characteristics while expressing the purity of the terroir and his skillful touch.

Henri Bonneau’s wines transcend the appellation, expressing a breed and complexity that is uncommon in Chateauneuf du Pape - poise and finesse are the hallmarks that set them apart. His wines are among the longest lived of Chateauneuf du Pape, with firm tannins and structure that will repay aging – one of the greatest and most classic expressions.

An impressive parcel of recent vintages Dujac Charmes Chambertin. This wine can be a bit more powerful than his Clos St. Denis, with a typical Gevrey expression of black cherries, dark chocolate, herbs and earth. Dujac’s is one of the top wines in the climat.

Dominique Lafon’s wines represent the very best of white Burgundy, fully expressing the complexity and nuance of each terroir; extraordinary and fine. Lafon recently purchased some vineyards from Domaine Rene Manuel and Guy Roulot (two parcels; average age forty years), from which comes this new bottling of Meursault Boucheres.

Domaine Dujac was founded in 1968 by Jacques Seysses, and currently holds approximately 15 hectares of vineyard land in some of the very best premier and grand cru sites in Burgundy. Their style emphasizes intensity over power, and the wines are elegant, delicate, and complex. We’ve been able to secure a small allocation of the top-rated 2010 and 2012 Clos de la Roche and Clos St. Denis.

Domaine Etienne Sauzet consists of approximately 26 hectares in the very best premier and grand cru vineyards in the Cote de Beaune. Winemaker Gerard Boudot’s guiding principle is to treat each vineyard with the utmost respect so as to allow the different terroirs to express their individual personalities. We’ve secured an allocation of the top-rated 2012 vintage wines.

Biondi-Santi was originally founded in 1840 by Clemente Santi, although it is his grandson Ferruccio, who established the estate's reputation for innovation and creating Brunello di Montalcino by isolating a particular clone of Sangiovese.
