MAS MARTINET PRIORAT CLOS MARTINET 2013
Offered APR 27th, 2017
The Mas Martinet vineyard in Priorat is at 225 meters altitude on a very sheltered and warm site where they have no problems with winds, hail or frost. Clos Martinet is a blend of mostly Grenache, Syrah and Carignane, with a little bit of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wine is partly aged in cement vats, though the elevage starts in spring in oak foudres, barriques and clay amphorae before being moved to glass demijohns then finally blended and kept in cement before bottling.

95 points Wine Advocate: “At the end of the day, the 2013 Clos Martinet was the wine from that cold and rainy vintage that showed more freshness, elegance and nuances. There are aromas of red fruit rather than black, nicely integrated spices and smoke and an earthy, slate sensation. The palate is compact and superbly balanced, very Priorat and serious without any excess. There are 8,200 bottles produced.”
