(88-91) points Burghound: “Like the Bourgogne, this is also pure, airy and super fresh with its elegant array of red currant, cherry, spice and rose petal scents. There is good underlying tension to the vibrant and lacy flavors that exude a fine bead of energy on the lightly mineral-inflected finale. This is good stuff too as well as very Chambolle in character.”
Arnoux-Lachaux Clos Vougeot 2007
6 bottles available
$150 per bottle
(91-94) points Burghound: “Moderate but not intrusive wood spice frames earthy, fresh and dense aromas of red and blue fruit that precede focused, textured, concentrated and sappy medium weight plus flavors that possess a subtle mineral streak that runs all the way to the impressively long finish. This is a serious example of Clos de Vougeot but one that carries perhaps a bit less finishing austerity than usual. For the patient.”
Arnoux-Lachaux Clos Vougeot 2011
18 bottles available
$165 per bottle
93 points Burghound: “Noticeable wood spice is present on the otherwise bright, pure and very fresh aromas of newly turned earth and a broad array of wild red berries. There is excellent volume and plenty of punch to the structured and firm large-scaled flavors that possess a lovely texture on the saline-infused finish. This is less austere than usual and should amply repay mid to even longer-term aging.”
Arnoux-Lachaux Echezeaux 2011
36 bottles available
$175 per bottle
93 points Burghound: “The expressive nose displays enough wood to notice on the fresh and ripe mix of red and blue pinot fruit with plenty of natural spice and earth notes in evidence. There is good richness and excellent volume to the robust and tautly muscular flavors that possess a textured, indeed even seductive mouth feel before terminating in a velvety and highly persistent finish. Lovely.”
Arnoux-Lachaux Latricieres Chambertin 2011
18 bottles available
$215 per bottle
94 points Burghound: “An exquisitely fresh and pure nose of cool red currant and mineral reduction slides gracefully into detailed, precise and restrained medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent verve and a taut muscularity. This really brims with minerality on the mouth coating finish that delivers super length. Terrific.”
Arnoux-Lachaux Latricieres Chambertin 2013
6 bottles available
$195 per bottle
93 points Burghound: “A brooding and reserved nose only grudgingly gives up its intensely floral array of red and dark currant aromas that enjoy added breadth in the form of green tea, earth and humus nuances. There is a driving minerality to the mouth coating and focused middle weight plus flavors that are ultra-vibrant, all wrapped in a wonderfully long, balanced and, like many of these 2013s, youthfully austere finish. This is not a big wine in the context of a Gevrey grand cru but it’s balanced and classically styled.”
Arnoux-Lachaux Nuits St. Georges 2015
24 bottles available
$60 per bottle
(89-91) points Burghound: “There is just enough reduction present to suppress the underlying fruit but it shouldn’t last. Otherwise there is a really lovely texture to the attractively intense and vibrant middle weight flavors that display only a touch of rusticity on the complex, focused and solidly persistent finale. This too is really very good and worth a look.”
